Student Rule Book
 
 
1. Admissions
  • Admission to a course is confirmed only on payment of the Course Fee* or down payment. Fee can be paid on one time basis or can be paid in installments (if available).
  • Payment of the fee has to be made at least 7 days prior to the course commencement failing which, his/her seat in the batch will stand
    cancelled.
  • Registration and admission is principally meant for the proponent and admission can’t be transfer to any other individual. If the students want to change his/her batch, he/she must put up an application at least 7 days prior to the start date.

    2. Attendance
  • All students are expected to maintain 100% attendance for all sessions. This will help the student to extract the functional benefits of the course / programs.
  • If he/she will fail to attend the allocate classes, TIIT will not bound to provide the extra classes to student. He/she can join another class in which the same topic is running for that topic only.

    3. Break & Transfer
    • A break is identified as a prolonged absence from the course / program with prior permission.
    • Shifting from one batch to another is termed as transfer.
    • A break/transfer for a course is only permitted after the student pay full course fee. If a student does not pay the same, a re-admission fee of 10% of course value shall be charged.
    • An application for a break or transfer has to be submitted by the student to his/her respective program coordinator. Approval for a break or transfer is at the discretion of the management and is based on necessity or urgency as the case may be. In the event of transfer, a suitable batch, based upon the availability of seats, will be allotted for the resuming the course.
    • The duration of a break between the courses can be maximum of 3 months and the number of breaks allowed for a course can not be more than one.
    • During the period when a student is on a break, change in course structure, up-gradation or dropping of a course might be occur. In this situation has to either forgo his/her admission or admit into an alternative course by paying the difference in course fee. Fee refunds will not be made in such cases and TIIT will not own responsibility of the same.
    • In the event of student availing of a break, on re-joining, if the course fee* has been raised, the student has to pay the difference of the fee*.

    4. Course Material
  • Every student is issued one set of course material during the program at the start of the batch/module.
  • Student will not be issued another set of course material under any circumstances except on paid basis.
  • Request to issue course material in advance will not be entertained.
  • Request for replacement of damaged or faulty course ware was should be made on the same day failing which no replacement will be done.

    5. Cancellation of Admission & Readmission
    1. Admission of a student will deemed as cancelled under the following circumstances:
      • Non-Attendance of 3 consecutive classes without prior permission / intimation.
      • Non – Payment of Fee.
      • Act of indiscipline.
    2. No refund is made if the admission is cancelled due to any of the reasons mentioned above.
    3. TIIT is reserves the right to cancel the admission without giving any reason.
    4. A student going on a break without fulfilling the requisite procedure is considered a dropout and looses his/her student-ship. Such students will be allowed to continue their course only after readmission.
     
    6. Certification
    1. A student's certificate can only be issued after he meets the following requisites:
      • Minimum of 90% attendance during the entire course.
      • Successful clearing of the examination conducted for the course and scoring a minimum of 60% marks.
      • Full and complete payment of all fees required.
    2. Certificate can be obtained from the program coordinator after 10 days period from the date of appearing in the final exam.
    3. Student will be required to produce original money receipts or the identity card issued to them at the time of admission, for getting their certificate from program coordinator.
    4. In case student wants the certificate handed over to someone else, an Authorization letter dually attesting the signature of bearer needs to be produced.\
    5. Certificate will not be sent to student by post/courier as it may be lost / damaged in transit.

    7. Force Majeure
    • TNS institute of Information Technology will not be liable for failure to perform any of the obligations under or arising out of this contract if such failures results from any natural calamity, act of god, fire, storm, earthquake, explosion, accident, strike, lockout, terrorism, industrial dispute, labor trouble, transportation embargo, eminence or the existence of any state of emergency, war, warlike conditions, civil commotion, riot, inability to obtain any material, refusal of license or imposition of sanction and/or any measures taken by the government or any other cause or circumstances of whatever nature beyond our control. Under the above mentioned circumstances candidate are not entitled to claim any fee refund.
     
    8. Discipline

    The following are deemed as act of Indiscipline and may lead to debarring a student from attending the course any further.

  • Violation of rules and regulation laid down by TNS Institute of Information Technology.
  • Taking recourse to unfair means during examination and assessment.
  • Indecent behavior or use of abusive or threatening language in the premises.
  • Wilful damage to infrastructure and equipment of the institute. In such a case the institute reserves the right to recover damages from the student to make good the losses caused by him\her.

    9. Examinations
  • During the program every student is evaluated through course test, lab exercises, quizzes and project seminar presentation which form a part of the student's final evaluations.
  • A student who is not satisfied with his/her examination results may take a re-test by paying a re-examination fee. The schedule for the test will be determined by the management.
  • A student who does not appear along with his/her batch has to put an application for appearing at the examination along with another batch.

    10. Extra Practical Session
    • Extra lab slots can be availed by the students subject to availability of machines at no extra cost. Student can make prior lab booking formally through their respective coordinator or through technical in charge of booking such slots except Saturday & Sunday.
    • During extra lab session student are supposed to work on their own with minimum or no support.
    • Allotment of extra lab slots is at the discretion of the coordinator present in the lab and also depends on the availability of the free lab.
    • If there has been a temporary disruption in the lab due to extraneous factors, extra lab booking shall be prioritized for those students whose labs were affected thereby.
     
    11. Fee Payment
    1. Any candidate registering for a course at TIIT has to pay the following fees: -
      • Registration Fee
      • Course fee applicable for the course
      • Levies and Taxes as imposed by local or central government and applicable at the time of admission.
    2. Student will be given a receipt for the money paid and also a payment a card indicating the installment plan (if applicable).
    3. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
    4. Delay in payment of fee/installment will lead to payment of late fee at the rate of Rs.100/day upto a maximum of 7% of the unpaid fee.
    5. Request for fee payment date changes will not be entertained in any case.
    6. All fee is payable through Cash, Local Cheques, or Demand Drafts. Outstation cheques or demand draft payable on outstation locations are not accepted.
    7. Payment through Cheque, demand draft, Pay Order is subject to realization.
    8. In case a cheque is dishonored, then a charge of INR 500.00 would be levied.

    12. Identity Card
    • Each student is issued an identity card upon admission.
    • An Identity Card is valid as mentioned therein.
    • An identity card is valid only at the knowledge centre where it is issued.
    • In the event of student transferring his/her studentship from one knowledge centre to another, a fresh Identity Card, at no additional charge, will be issued to him/her.
    • An Identity Card is valid only if it is contains the student’s name, batch code, registration number, statute of limitations, expiry date with a recent photograph dually stamped and signed by an Authorized signatory of TIIT.
    • The student will be permitted to enter an TIIT Knowledge centre and receive any material & service only on production of his/her valid Identity Card.
     
    13. Refund / Cancellation Policy
    • The registration Fee and Service Tax component of the fee paid by student will not be refunded to him / her any circumstances.
    • If a student cancelled his/her enrollment 7 or more calendar days before the scheduled start date of the class the student is entitled to full refund of the fee paid by him/her, excluding the Service Tax and Registration Fee component.
    • If a student cancel his/her admission within 1-6 calendar days before the class start date, he/she will be entitled to refund of only 50% of the fee paid, excluding the Service Tax and Registration Fee components.
    • Any other request for cancellation/refund of fee will not be entertained and as such, the student will not be entitled to get either part or whole

    14. General
    • The rules and procedure led down by TIIT apply to all students of TIIT. These rules and procedure will remain valid till any changes are affected, upon which the new rules come into effect automatically for all students.
    • TIIT reserves the right to change the rules and regulations as and when the necessity arises.
    • TIIT reserves the right to postpone/cancel batch/batches with due intimation to students.
    • A student is not entitled for any certificates or records if not collected within one year from the date of completion of the batch.
    • Students are requested not to leave their bags and other materials in the class or anywhere in the premises. TIIT will not be liable for any such loss of articles/materials.
    • Parking of vehicles of student at their own risk and TIIT does not provide any security.
    • Students are not allowed to make or receive telephone calls from the office phones.
    • Student should switch off their mobile phones before entering the classroom.
    • For any issue not specified in the rule book the decision of the management is final and binding.
    • While coming in or going out of premises, the guard has the authority to inspect the bags of anyone for security region.
     
    15. Miscellenious:
    • The term and conditioned mentioned above are subject to jurisdiction of the court of location where the receipt is issued.
